My experience of sitting on a diet is such that I will not voluntarily resort to this method of self-torture. If it weren't for one "but": I've personally seen results from two weeks on the "Japanese" diet. Just like in the magazines: "before" and "after". However, principles when it comes to beauty and health are perhaps the best.

Why this diet is called Japanese is difficult to say - half of the recommended foods to eat are exotic foods for the Japanese. According to legend, this diet was developed by specialists of the Japanese clinic "Yaeks", but no further traces of this office were found on the English-language Internet.

Sentimental lyrical digression

I must say that I admire the courage of people who can taste the weight loss recipes found on the internet and immediately try them for themselves. I myself am wary of diets. Life brought me to them twice.

For the first time - in severe form, when in the mountains I caught some kind of stomach infection, and for three weeks at an altitude of 3000 meters, I could not eat: everything immediately asked to return. The second time was when I decided to limit my diet to 1000 calories per day. For almost a month, my diet consisted of morning coffee with ice cream, which was handy for lunch, and frozen vegetables for dinner. I learned that a diet must be balanced much later.

So the first question I ask is: How balanced is the Japanese diet? "More or less, but there aren't enough amino acids, " replied a biochemist friend, "you'll be envious - horrified by the gun". His fears of my hypothetical escalating cruelty did not materialize. For the first two days, his body was suppressed by the sudden loss of normal food from his life. And realizing that this was for a long time, but not forever, he became quiet and indifferent.

Charm and disappointment

As it happens in every experiment on myself, I've put together a list of charms and disappointments. Or rather, the discomfort and pleasure of dieting.

Discomfort #1

The diet is strict. Because, according to the authors, it is designed to alter metabolism. Therefore, the slightest deviation from the course (even croutons, even apples) - and the expected effect are not guaranteed. And here's what to expect: parting with 5 - 8 kilograms and future weight stabilization.

Discomfort #2

It is very difficult to come to a business lunch and coquettishly ask me, please, two hard boiled eggs and 200 grams of grated carrots. Usually such a request remains unfulfilled. Therefore, you should carry all the supplies in your wallet. And, most likely, prepare diet meals the day before.

Number 1 fun

A 13 day Japanese diet will cost you about 2 times less than a daily business lunch or work lunch. And even more so - the purchase of food for the home.

Fun number 2

In general, it is better not to start a strict diet if at least half of the food is unpleasant to you. And since I eat with great enthusiasm in the "normal life" and fish, and boiled beef, and carrots, and kefir, and cabbage, then seeing them on my table is, frankly, pleasant.

Many people ask about drinking coffee every morning - is it harmless? If you have heart problems or high blood pressure, then coffee can have an adverse effect. And before starting the Japanese diet, it is worth consulting your doctor.

All kinds of sensations

In the first two days of the diet, a vision haunted me: as soon as I closed my eyes, a thinly baked pancake appeared before my inner sight, spontaneously rolling into a tube. Then someone kindly dipped it in strawberry jam and brought it to my face. No olfactory hallucinations. After chasing me for two days, the pancakes were left behind.

An indifferent attitude and calm attitude to culinary delights appeared, which persists to this day. This doesn't mean that I would balk if I was offered to try something tasty. But the nervous vibe from the fact that "there's so much food in there" is no longer visible.

I didn't lose so much - only 4 kilos, but the weight didn't come back. I don't know who to thank for this: the developers of the Japanese diet or myself - for doing exercise twice a week. The only detail: during the diet, you feel weakened, and in the end it becomes problematic to open an unopened bottle of mineral water. But then the power was quickly restored.
